What Liverpool’s Win Means For Us
By: Andrew | November 7th, 2007In case you didn’t notice, Liverpool were in action Tuesday night in the Champions League. Not only were they in action, but they were in top form, thrashing Turkish side Bestikas 8-0, setting the record for biggest win ever in the Champions League. So, why do I bring this up? you ask. Well, on Saturday the Cottagers will travel to Anfield to take on the Reds in what’s sure to be an extremely difficult match.
On another Fulham blog,Craven Cottage Newsround , the blogger published an interesting study concerning the form of some teams after they’ve thrashed opponents in the CL. Here are the findings:
Tue. 23 Arsenal 7 – 0 Slavia Prague UEFA Champions League
Sun. 28 Liverpool 1 – 1 Arsenal English Premier League
Wed. 31 Sheff Utd 0 – 3 Arsenal English Carling CupTue. 10 Man Utd 7 – 1 Roma UEFA Champions League
Sat. 14 Watford 1 – 4 Man Utd English FA Cup
Tue. 17 Man Utd 2 – 0 Sheff Utd English Premier LeagueWed. 10 Juventus 7 – 0 Olympiakos 12,500 UEFA Champions League
Sun. 14 Juventus 4 – 0 Parma Italian Serie A
Sun. 21 Lecce 1 – 1 Juventus Italian Serie A
Just looking at the form of these teams, it looks like there’s not a steep drop in form after the thrashings except in the case of Arsenal (and that can be explained because they played Liverpool). This means that we’ll be up against it come Saturday. Up the Cottagers!

OR Benitez gets his head out of his ass, starts Crouch, and we are in trouble. I hope for a clogged midfield, and a 0-0 draw.
