Super Danny Murphy

By: timmyg | March 23rd, 2009

Okay, so maybe the bars showing the average location of the passes is a bit too much. But just look at the differences between the two graphs. The top was this past weekend, the bottom last month’s drubbing at Old Trafford.

You could explain Murphy being allowed so much space to United being down to 10 men. Which, Chris is angry everyone thinks why the ManYoo lost, not why Fulham won.

And you might be correct with that assertion. But that difference in space is what I was referring to on Saturday: Fulham attacked. Instead of forced, short passes within the center circle’s diameter, Murphy was present in half of the field. We all thought Bullard was the main cog of the machine.

But he wasn’t. It was Murphy.

Before things go dormant because of the (seemingly endless) international breaks and I go over to Europe, lets all hope and pray no one gets injured. After a horrid start to the month, things are beginning to turn around. Although seventh place is within sniffing distance, ManCity and Tottenham are hot on our, West Ham’s and Wigan’s heels. Its not going to be easy.

Here’s hoping for better than ninth, and a good April 30th.
