    1. There were several challenges this weekend that were far worse than Nevland’s and some weren’t even free kicks let alone yellow cards. That’s the problem. Throw in Blom’s joke of a performance in the Ajax game and you get an indication of just how poor a referee he is.

    2. No, of course, it’s commonplace in football nowadays and Roma obviously needed a win. It’s just a bit distasteful that’s all.

    3. I saw the Inter-Roma game and Roma were robbed no question. I guess they’ll be plenty of talk about Vieira on De Rossi too. Certainly Roma have always been a bigger club than us that’s true, but I was surprised at just how close it actually was.

All the best for the rest of the season.

They did and you did hear about it.
    September:
    12 Sep Tottenham A
    15 Sep Besiktas A
    20 Sep Man City H
    23 Sep Wolves H
    26 Sep Stoke City A
    30 Sep Wolfsburg H

And in october, united had to go to moscow right before the liverpool game.

Its what you sign up for when you are in european competition.

Don’t think there’s too much conspiracy at work. Fulham are consulted before the fixtures are decided and policing issues mean we can’t play at home on the same day as Chelsea, who have also had Sunday games when we have had ours. Premier League fixtures are always decided without the possibilities of European competitions in mind as they haven’t finished the qualifying stages by June and that’s why a lot of United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal games have to be rescheduled.

On our on-loan players (I hesitate to call them loaners as without the ‘a’ that implies something rather harsh about their personality), I saw Stoor’s game on Friday night. He looked good but not oustanding.

Watts was ineligible as we’d specified we didn’t want him Cup tied. The Charlton game was live on TV over here and Omozusi looked a world away from the player who broke into the first team a few years ago. We’ve got a far better prospect in Keanu Marsh-Brown if you ask me.

The old stadium was called Springfield Park – and, alas, I never saw us win there.

I’ll “close” this by once again wishing you all the best (I wouldn’t mind if you beat Basel you know), final point being made on the issue of diving: take a look at how Liverpool got their penalty against Birmingham today.

Andersen — I know Fergie moaned about it. But even then their schedule has been more forgiving — only the Spurs (Sat)/Besiktas (Tue) and the upcoming WestHam (Sat)/Wolfsburg (Tue) are rough. Although they had to travel from Moscow to Liverpool, the CL was on a Tuesday and the Anfield game was on a Sunday — the normal three days rest.

My point is that I and other fans haven’t heard a peep about it from Roy or anyone else with the club.

Dan — I call them “loaners” not as a pejorative term but more as a play on words. I caught glimpses of the Charlton match, but not enough to really pay attention to Omosuzi’s play. Not too surprised he has regressed, though.

“I would be embarassed if I supported an Italian team”
Yet it seems to me the italian team came out on top…
“it’s refreshing to see an English club actually take the Europa League seriously”
So that’s why Fulham tied mighty CSKA Sofia. They have the quality to win that tie easily, the fact is they didnt take it seriously because they put out a reserve line up.
I have no intention to insult Fulham, as a neutral I actually quite enjoy watching them, but the complaining here is childish. Every team has to go through controversy, its part of the game.
