Looking Back and Forward
By: Andrew | December 5th, 2007Okay, so we knew we weren’t going to get anything out of Old Trafford and two Ronaldo goals assured that. Good news: we’re done playing the top 4 sides away for the year so we can only improve on the 1 point we picked up from these games.
Slightly bad news: Everton awaits on Saturday. I’m not sure what to think of this game. Everton are a very good side (as evidenced by the 7-1 scoreline against Sunderland) but I have a sneaking feeling we might just might be able to get something out of the visit to Goodison Park. For most of the game against Man U we didn’t look terrible which makes me think we could get something. And, despite all the whining from the fans about Sanchez and how the players he’s brought in have done nothing, the team is getting better by the day, so I’m confident we’ll be able to escape relegation. In fact, I think we could push for a solid midtable finish if our form improves.
We’ve drawn Bristol Rovers from League One in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. The tie seems pretty straight forward but you never know with these lower league sides. A long run in the cup would certainly keep the team’s morale up and give the squad something to play for.
Finally: some transfer rumors.

Good luck at Goodison. Sunderland also looked good away to top-4 sides (a pair of one-goal losses at Old Trafford and Emirates, both of which Sunderland deserved a point from). Then we got blitzkrieged by Everton, who are in top form right now with Cahill healthy etc. Very tough team at the moment.
