Weekend Preview: Fulham v Boro
By: jon | February 7th, 2008These weekend previews will mostly be link dumps, so you can get the pros look at the fixture ahead.
BBC’s take.
One comforting points from the article:
2. Scored one goal in each of the last four league games, and only managed more than one in one of the last 18 top-flight outings.
Sounds good to me.
An interesting note,
Kallio and Stalteri are more likely to see action as defenders in a team that has shipped the most goals at home in the Premier League.
However, with Stalteri carrying a leg injury, Kallio could be the only new player to start against Boro, although the left-back and central defensive positions already appear filled.
Here’s the Skipper talking about this week’s match.
Looking at the buys the Fulham has made this January, I don’t see how they’re going to use all of these forwards successfully. I’m a believer in Eddie Johnson, if only because the guy’s got speed to burn and that’s something to have in the EPL. But with the return of McBride and old man Litmanen, I feel like Johnson will be the odd man out, as the untested newcomer. I think they should move Dempsey to a CAM position, behind McBride and Johnson. But, I’m an American, so maybe I’m biased.
What do you all think?

Well, I think that Roy Hodgson is a pretty smart guy, understands if someone’s form in looking good in practice, will use him, also understands how valuable experience is, particularly in an away game against another team that is near the drop zone. I don’t know if Brian is still fit for 90. The other thing to consider is how strung out and tired Clint Dempsey is right now. Jimmy B. had some time off, so to speak with no international call ups and Bouzza will not make the game because of personal issues.
Davies had international duty but played only 59 min. and his travel was minimal. So I think you may see Dempsey get a rare break but could see him in the second half.
Lineup is pretty much the same as last week with Camara and Nevland starting up front. Mc Bride subs and Dempsey subs if needed.
